Rainbow and the sun
-Roko Zaper
NOTES: This storybook was inspired by a documentary on the life of a Polish nobleman, Sebastián Berzeviczy, the alleged blood relative of Andre Benesz. My story follows Andre as he is told the tale of his relative by a mysterious old man. It is however just part of the story, as many years later Sebastián's daughter and her husband were hunted and murdered by Spanish spies. Only their son survived. With this as background, I wanted to examine our contemporary amnesia for the sacrifices and love that made our lives possible. But as I walked back to my car I coudn't get the treasure
in his story out of my mind. Maybe it was still at Niedzica
castle, just waiting to be found. I decided that I was
going to start searching for it and woudn't stop until I had
found it. Maybe that would stop my nightmares. As the
first rays of the sun broke through the trees the old man
on the bench took a deep breath. He simply said: "Ah,
here comes the sun..."
