Rainbow and the sun
-Roko Zaper
NOTES: This storybook was inspired by a documentary on the life of a Polish nobleman, Sebastián Berzeviczy, the alleged blood relative of Andre Benesz. My story follows Andre as he is told the tale of his relative by a mysterious old man. It is however just part of the story, as many years later Sebastián's daughter and her husband were hunted and murdered by Spanish spies. Only their son survived. With this as background, I wanted to examine our contemporary amnesia for the sacrifices and love that made our lives possible. "As the Sun King left, Sebastián took pleasure in his own cunning. He
had told the Sun King he was an English nobleman and offered the
king his services in his fight against the Spanish. The Sun King,
grateful to Sebastián for saving his daughter, agreed." |
